Calm in Gold Markets After Heavy Losses

Local gold markets in Egypt experienced a period of stability during Tuesday's trading, following a strong downward wave yesterday where the price per gram lost approximately 130 EGP, in tandem with the decline of global bullion prices.

Today's Gold Prices by Karat

The various karats of the precious metal maintained levels close to yesterday's close, coming in as follows:

24-Karat: 6,971 EGP

22-Karat: 6,390 EGP

21-Karat (Most Traded): 6,100 EGP

18-Karat: 5,229 EGP

14-Karat: 4,067 EGP

Key Factors Influencing the Local Market

Local yellow metal movements are currently driven by several main factors, notably the sharp dip in global ounces earlier this week, fluctuations in the USD/EGP exchange rate, and local demand dynamics. Notably, 21-karat gold dropped from 6,230 EGP at Sunday's close to settle at 6,100 EGP.

Global Market Anticipation and US Economic Data

Globally, gold ounces face mounting pressure due to rising US bond yields and higher oil prices. Global markets are closely awaiting key US economic releases this week—led by the Core Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index and jobs data—to gauge the outlook for US interest rates and the future trajectory of the dollar and gold.
