Fixed Broadband Subscriptions in Egypt Reach 17.68 Million by June 2026
Fixed broadband (FBB) subscriptions in Egypt increased to 17.68 million during the April–June 2026 period, compared with 17.18 million subscriptions recorded during the same period in 2025, marking an annual increase of around 1.3%.
The data showed an overall upward trend across most of the monitored periods. Subscriptions rose from 17.18 million in June 2025 to 17.40 million in September, before reaching 17.57 million in December 2025.
The number of subscriptions reached its highest level in March 2026 at 17.98 million, before declining slightly to 17.68 million between April and June.
Despite the quarterly decline, the number of fixed broadband subscriptions remained around 500,000 higher than the level recorded in June 2025, reflecting continued growth in the fixed internet subscriber base.
The latest figures also come as part of an updated methodology for classifying fixed internet subscriptions. The previous ADSL subscription indicator has been replaced by the broader Fixed Broadband (FBB) indicator, which covers various fixed broadband technologies.
The new classification includes technologies such as ADSL and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services, providing a more comprehensive measurement of fixed broadband subscriptions in Egypt.
The updated methodology is designed to offer a broader view of fixed broadband adoption while aligning the measurement approach with international telecommunications indicators and monitoring practices.
