CBE Opens Bidding for EGP 60 Billion Treasury Bonds on Behalf of Ministry of Finance
Acting on mandate from the Ministry of Finance to finance general budget requirements, the Central Bank of Egypt today invited bids for EGP 60 billion in Treasury Bonds across three tenors:
EGP 20 billion in 3-year fixed-rate bonds (due Sept 15, 2029) featuring semi-annual coupon distribution.
EGP 10 billion in 18-month floating-rate bonds (due March 15, 2028) featuring semi-annual coupon distribution.
EGP 30 billion in 10-year floating-rate bonds (due Sept 29, 2036) featuring quarterly coupon distribution.
The auction aligns with the latest Monetary Policy Committee stance to maintain key policy rates—overnight deposit at 19.00%, overnight lending at 20.00%, main operation at 19.50%, and the discount rate at 19.50%.
