Xiaomi Launches 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max With Privacy Display and 200MP Cameras
Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in China, introducing a new generation of flagship smartphones featuring privacy display technology, large-capacity batteries, dual 200MP cameras, and Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processors.
One of the key additions to the Xiaomi 18 Pro series is its Privacy Display feature, which is designed to limit the visibility of on-screen content to people viewing the device from an angle. The technology is similar to the privacy display feature introduced with Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Xiaomi is also offering additional software-based controls for the feature. The front-facing camera can detect people looking at the phone’s screen and automatically activate Privacy Display mode. Users can also configure the feature to activate automatically based on their location, allowing it to turn on when they are in crowded public places.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Specifications
The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 6.4-inch AMOLED main display with a resolution of 2436 × 1120 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also includes a 2.7-inch rear display with a resolution of 912 × 596 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset and comes with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB using UFS 4.1 technology.
The device is equipped with a 7,000mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging and 27W wireless charging.
For photography, the Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 200MP main camera, a 200MP telephoto camera with 3.2x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 102-degree field of view.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Specifications
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max comes with a larger 6.9-inch AMOLED display featuring a resolution of 2624 × 1208 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone also includes a 2.9-inch rear display with a resolution of 976 × 596 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Pro Max model is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor and offers 12GB or 16GB of RAM, along with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The device packs an 8,500mAh battery, while supporting 100W wired charging and 27W wireless charging.
The Pro Max features the same camera setup as the Xiaomi 18 Pro, including a 200MP main camera, a 200MP telephoto camera with 3.2x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 102-degree field of view.
Price and Global Availability
The Xiaomi 18 Pro series starts at 5,999 yuan in China, equivalent to slightly less than $900. Xiaomi has not yet announced official pricing for international markets.
The company confirmed that both models will be released outside China, unlike the Xiaomi 17 Pro, but it has not yet announced an official global launch date.
