Valu, BYD launch 18-month interest-free car financing offer in Egypt

Valu has partnered with BYD and its official distributor in Egypt, ManDream, to introduce new financing options for selected BYD vehicles, as the Egyptian fintech company expands its presence in automotive finance.

Under the partnership, customers can choose between an interest-free payment plan of up to 18 months or cashback of up to EGP 160,000 when purchasing selected BYD models.

The offer runs from September 25 to October 15, 2026, and covers three models: the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, BYD Dolphin Surf and BYD ATTO 8.

The partnership comes as both companies seek to provide customers in Egypt with greater flexibility in financing vehicle purchases, while Valu continues to expand its financing solutions into the automotive sector.

Three BYD models included

The financing offer covers a mix of electrified vehicles in BYD’s Egyptian portfolio.

The Dolphin Surf is a fully electric compact model, while the Sealion 6 DM-i uses BYD’s plug-in hybrid technology. The ATTO 8 is also included in the financing programme.

Customers purchasing any of the three eligible models during the offer period can select either the 18-month interest-free payment option or the cashback alternative, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

Khaled Youssef, CEO of BYD in Egypt, said the company is working to develop its customer experience in the Egyptian market through partnerships covering different stages of the purchasing journey, including financing and after-sales services.

He said the partnership with Valu provides customers with more flexible financing and payment options, allowing buyers to select an approach that better matches their financial plans.

Valu expands automotive financing

For Valu, the agreement represents another step in expanding its footprint in vehicle financing and building what the company describes as a green automotive finance portfolio.

Habiba Naguib, Head of Market Expansion and Strategy at Valu, said the partnership with BYD and ManDream reflects the company’s strategy of developing flexible financial solutions that respond to changing customer needs.

She added that the collaboration supports Valu’s efforts to develop its green automotive financing portfolio through solutions designed for BYD customers.

Valu already offers dedicated automotive financing through Shift, which allows customers to finance vehicle purchases with repayment plans that can extend to 60 months.

The company has been widening its financial services ecosystem beyond its core Buy Now, Pay Later business, with products covering payments, consumer finance, investment and business services.

Financing becomes part of EV competition

The partnership also highlights the growing role of financing in the competition to expand access to electric and electrified vehicles in Egypt.

While vehicle manufacturers continue to compete on price, range, technology and after-sales services, access to flexible financing is increasingly becoming another part of the purchasing equation, particularly for higher-value vehicles.

For BYD, the agreement adds a financing component to its ongoing expansion in the Egyptian market. For Valu, it provides an opportunity to extend its consumer finance model further into automotive purchases while increasing its exposure to electric and lower-emission mobility.

The offer will remain available until October 15, giving customers a three-week window to access the financing or cashback options across the three eligible BYD models.
