Russian Stocks Open Higher as MOEX and RTS Indices Advance
Russian equities opened higher on the Moscow Exchange on Thursday, according to early trading data.
At 9:00 a.m. Moscow time (06:00 GMT), the MOEX index rose by 0.58% to 2,325.76 points, while the RTS index gained 0.58% to reach 868.1 points, as reported by Russia's TASS news agency.
By 9:30 a.m. Moscow time, the MOEX index recorded an increase of 0.94% to 2,233.92 points, and the RTS index climbed 0.94% to 871.16 points.
In the currency market, the Chinese yuan slipped against the Russian ruble, declining by 2.8 kopecks to trade at 12.673 rubles.
