EJB and Granite Holding Host Major Forum to Boost Egyptian-African Investment and Trade
The Egyptian Junior Business Association (EJB), chaired by Mohamed Abo Basha, in collaboration with Granite Holding for Financial Investments, has organized an extensive forum to explore investment and trade opportunities and enhance economic integration between Egypt and African nations.
The high-level event was attended by Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; Mostafa Sheikhoun, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE); and Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Abdel Aziz El Sherif, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS). They were joined by ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from approximately 25 African countries, alongside key figures from financial and developmental institutions and business community representatives.
Prominent institutional participation marked the workshop, including Saad Sabra, Head of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Egypt, and Noha Khalil, Executive Director of the Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE). Representatives from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), and various business federations were also in attendance.
The workshop strategically aimed to establish direct communication channels between the Egyptian private sector and African markets. Discussions focused on identifying viable investment and commercial opportunities, while exploring financing mechanisms, logistical connectivity, and information exchange. The overarching goal is to catalyze the transformation of the continent's vast potential into tangible projects and active investments.
