Vodafone Egypt Foundation and Misr El Kheir Launch ”Back to School” Initiative to Support 7,000 Students
The Vodafone Egypt Foundation for Community Development, in partnership with the Misr El Kheir Foundation, has launched this year's edition of the 'Back to School' initiative. Coinciding with the start of the new academic year, the program aims to support 7,000 of the most deserving students across various Egyptian governorates.
Fully funded by the Vodafone Egypt Foundation as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting education and empowering students, the initiative is being implemented on the ground by Misr El Kheir. Leveraging its extensive community reach and logistical expertise, Misr El Kheir is overseeing the distribution of comprehensive school bags equipped with essential supplies to foster a supportive learning environment for students.
'Yalla Sharek' Volunteers Lead Packing Efforts in Fayoum
The initiative featured a hands-on packing event held on September 21, 2026, at the Tawheed Community Schools Complex in Fayoum Governorate. Volunteers from Vodafone’s 'Yalla Sharek' platform actively participated in assembling the school bags, organizing the event, supporting logistics, and distributing the supplies directly to the beneficiaries.
Vodafone Egypt: Investing in an Inclusive Future
Eng. Ayman El-Saadany, Head of External Affairs at Vodafone Egypt, emphasized that the Foundation views education as an investment in a more inclusive future. He noted that supporting students extends beyond fulfilling basic needs; it is about creating the right conditions for them to embark on their educational journey with confidence and readiness.
'Through the Back to School initiative, we are working alongside Misr El Kheir to alleviate the financial burden on families and enhance the students' ability to continue their education,' El-Saadany stated. He added that corporate volunteering through 'Yalla Sharek' empowers employees to make a tangible, sustainable impact in their communities.

Dr. Mohamed Refaie, CEO of the Misr El Kheir Foundation, praised the enduring partnership with Vodafone Egypt Foundation, describing it as a prime model of successful integration between the private sector and civil society.
Refaie reaffirmed that education is at the forefront of Misr El Kheir’s priorities. 'This initiative goes beyond handing out school bags; it delivers a message of psychological and moral support to the children and their families, assuring them that their right to education is protected,' he said.

Education and youth empowerment remain core pillars of the Vodafone Egypt Foundation, which focuses on integrating technology and connectivity to enhance digital and future-ready skills.
