FRA Concludes 2026 Summer Training Program for Egyptian University Students

The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has concluded its 2026 summer training program for Egyptian university students as part of its efforts to promote financial literacy, introduce young people to non-banking financial activities, and equip them with practical skills required for the job market.

The program attracted strong interest this year, receiving 7,480 applications, more than double the number recorded in the previous year. The FRA conducted awareness sessions for 441 students, followed by qualification tests attended by 333 trainees. A total of 228 students were eventually selected to participate in practical training across different FRA departments, divided into three groups, with each training period lasting one month.

FRA Chairman Islam Ezzam attended the closing ceremony and distributed certificates to participants. He highlighted the importance of investing in young talent and combining academic knowledge with hands-on experience to prepare future professionals capable of contributing to the development of Egypt’s non-banking financial sector.

Ezzam also emphasized the role of young professionals in driving innovation and developing financial products and services that respond to the evolving needs of market participants. He noted that the growing number of young people engaging with capital markets and investment funds makes continued financial awareness efforts increasingly important.

The FRA chairman added that the authority is expanding its financial education initiatives through its “I Invest” platform and university training programs, with a focus on providing young people with reliable information and a better understanding of financial instruments and investment activities.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Assistant to the FRA Chairman, said that educating university students about the non-banking financial sector is a key component of the authority’s financial literacy strategy. He noted that trainees can also serve as a link between the FRA and their universities and communities by helping spread accurate information about financial activities and investment opportunities.

The training gave students practical exposure to the FRA’s regulatory and supervisory functions, including capital markets, insurance, and non-banking financial services. Participants also gained insights into financial technology, digital financial services, market innovation, and the authority’s efforts to protect consumers and support the development of regulated markets.

The program targeted students studying fields related to economics and financial activities, including accounting, insurance, actuarial science, finance, computer and information sciences, media, public relations, and legal studies. The initiative provided participants with direct exposure to a professional work environment while helping them connect their academic studies with practical applications.
