Arab African International Bank Strengthens Digital Payment Security With IBM Fraud Prevention Platform

Arab African International Bank (AAIB) has strengthened its digital payment security infrastructure and expanded its financial fraud prevention capabilities through a collaboration with IBM and TECH-HUB.

As part of the partnership, the bank successfully implemented and deployed IBM Safer Payments, an advanced platform designed to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions. The project has positioned AAIB among the Egyptian banks adopting the platform, delivering improvements in fraud detection accuracy, operational efficiency, and the reduction of financial losses associated with fraudulent activities.

The implementation has also helped reduce false-positive alerts and accelerate the bank’s response to potential risks, supporting a safer and more reliable customer experience across its digital payment channels.

With digital banking services continuing to expand and transaction volumes increasing, financial institutions are facing increasingly sophisticated fraud techniques. In response, AAIB is enhancing its monitoring and operational capabilities by adopting advanced technologies based on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.

IBM Safer Payments continuously analyzes transaction patterns and customer behavior through intelligent models capable of learning and adapting to emerging risks. This enables the platform to identify unusual activity and suspicious transaction patterns while supporting real-time decisions to prevent potential fraudulent operations before they affect customers or banking processes.

IBM, in collaboration with TECH-HUB and with support from IBM Expert Labs Services, integrated the platform with AAIB’s existing payment infrastructure and core banking systems. The project included real-time transaction monitoring, intelligent fraud-detection decision mechanisms, and a scalable technology architecture designed to support the bank’s future growth and digital transformation plans.

The combination of IBM’s technology expertise and TECH-HUB’s implementation capabilities contributed to accelerating the deployment and maximizing the value of the solution, strengthening AAIB’s ability to respond to the rapidly evolving digital banking environment.

The initiative reflects AAIB’s continued investment in technology and risk management, while supporting a more flexible, data-driven operating model. It is also aimed at improving decision-making, enhancing customer services, and strengthening the bank’s ability to address emerging digital risks.
