FDC Summit 2026 Opens in Cairo With AI, Data Centers and Cybersecurity at the Center of the Agenda
The eighth edition of FDC Summit, a regional platform for the digital industry, will open in Cairo on Tuesday, September 22, bringing together government officials, technology executives and international industry players to discuss investment and infrastructure priorities shaping the next phase of the digital economy.
The summit is being held under the patronage and with the participation of Raafat Hendy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry, alongside government and institutional representatives, ambassadors, industry leaders and technology experts.
The first day will take place at Al Manara International Conference Center, while the summit will continue on September 23 and 24 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC).
This year’s agenda puts artificial intelligence, data centers, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, cloud computing and data management at the center of discussions, with a particular focus on moving beyond technology trends toward investment, deployment and business impact.
Egypt’s data center opportunity comes into focus
One of the opening day’s key discussions will be a high-level roundtable titled “The Future of Investment in Egypt’s Data Center Industry.”
The session will examine how Egypt can strengthen its position in the regional data center market and attract additional investment by leveraging its geographic location, telecommunications infrastructure, workforce and links with Arab and African markets.
The discussion comes as data centers increasingly form the physical backbone of the AI and cloud economy. Growing demand for computing capacity means that investment in AI is becoming closely connected to investment in the infrastructure required to process, store and move data.
FDC Summit will therefore examine the sector not only as a technology issue, but as an investment opportunity linked to Egypt’s broader digital economy.
Egypt’s role in Africa’s digital infrastructure
A second high-level roundtable will address “Egypt’s Role in Advancing Digital Transformation and the Future of Critical Infrastructure in Africa.”
Discussions will focus on opportunities for Egyptian-African cooperation in digital transformation, the development and protection of critical infrastructure, capacity building and the role of technology in improving the resilience of vital sectors across the continent.
The Africa-focused agenda reflects the summit’s regional dimension, particularly as governments and businesses seek to expand digital infrastructure while simultaneously addressing security, resilience and skills requirements.
Cybersecurity meets the AI era
Cybersecurity will be another major pillar of the three-day event.
Sessions will address cyber risk management, protection of data and digital assets, critical infrastructure security, business continuity and organizational preparedness for increasingly sophisticated threats.
At the same time, the summit will examine the practical deployment of AI across different sectors and its impact on operating models, decision-making, productivity and service quality.
Bringing the two themes together is becoming increasingly important. As organizations deploy more AI-based systems and move additional workloads to cloud and data center infrastructure, the digital assets requiring protection are also expanding.
Global technology companies join the discussions
The eighth edition will feature participation from a broad group of international, regional and Egyptian technology companies, including Orange, We Innovate, GPX Global, Palo Alto Networks, F5, Trellix, Thales, Google, Kaspersky, Raya IT, OpenText, Gigamon, Trend AI, ExtraHop, Infoblox, BeyondTrust, Ivanti, HPE Juniper, Seclore, Tenable, ACT, AIS-dPhish and Cohesity.
Their participation brings together companies operating across telecommunications, cybersecurity, enterprise technology, data management, cloud infrastructure and related areas.
The summit aims to use that mix to connect international technology expertise with Egypt’s industry ecosystem and create opportunities for partnerships, investment and knowledge exchange.
