Suez Canal Bank Leads Egyptian Banking Stocks Higher at Sunday Open

Suez Canal Bank led the gains among banking sector stocks listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) at the start of trading on Sunday, rising 1.95% to EGP 45.00.

The stock recorded trading value of EGP 11.543 million through the exchange of 256,814 shares.

QNB Egypt ranked second among the sector’s top gainers, rising 1.16% to EGP 60.34, with trading worth EGP 6.723 million through 111,425 shares.

Egyptian Export Development Bank (E-Bank) came third, gaining 0.61% to EGP 21.51, with trading value of EGP 3.173 million through 147,730 shares.

Commercial International Bank (CIB) ranked fourth, rising 0.53% to EGP 133.20, with trading worth EGP 9.054 million through 67,963 shares.

Al Baraka Bank Egypt followed in fifth place, gaining 0.29% to EGP 23.84, with trading value of EGP 737,173 through 30,899 shares.

Credit Agricole Egypt ranked sixth among the sector’s gainers, edging up 0.16% to EGP 25.54, with trading worth EGP 988,904 through 38,693 shares.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt (ADIB) fell 0.11% to EGP 53.94, recording trading value of EGP 12.057 million through 222,943 shares.

Housing and Development Bank (HDB) also declined 1.16% to EGP 119.00, with trading worth EGP 3.272 million through 27,331 shares.

Three banking stocks remained unchanged at the start of trading: United Bank, Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt – Egyptian Pound, and Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt – US Dollar.
