Egypt’s Banking Sector Index Rises 0.24% in Early Trading
The banking sector index of listed Egyptian banks rose 0.24% during the opening trading of Sunday’s session to reach 5,911 points.
Trading in the banking sector recorded EGP 86.061 million during the morning session, accounting for 4.30% of the Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) total trading value.
Around 1.421 million shares were traded in the sector, representing 0.32% of the total number of shares traded on the EGX.
Meanwhile, Egyptian stock market indices moved higher at the start of Sunday’s session. The benchmark EGX30 index gained 0.60% to reach 55,830 points.
The EGX70 index, which tracks small- and mid-cap companies, increased 0.57% to 21,180 points, while the broader EGX100 index rose 0.54% to 27,831 points
