Egypt’s ICT Minister Highlights Entrepreneurship as Key Driver of Economic Growth
Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Raafat Hendy, emphasized the strategic role of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and strengthening Egypt’s competitiveness.
Speaking during the fourth edition of the Egyptian Entrepreneurship Sector Annual Report Summit (SDR 2026), held in El Gouna from September 10–12, Hendy said the ICT sector plays a critical role in enabling growth across different areas of the economy.
He highlighted the importance of supporting technology-driven entrepreneurship, noting that startups can contribute innovative and flexible solutions to development challenges while helping businesses improve efficiency, develop new business models, enhance services, and expand into new markets.
