Egypt's annual urban headline inflation decelerated to 14.5% in August 2026, cooling from 14.9% recorded in July, according to the latest data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The decline follows a brief acceleration in July, signaling a moderate slowdown in the pace of price increases across essential consumer goods and services in Egypt's urban centers throughout the month of August.
