Arab Bank Inks EGP 600 Million Financing Deal with Edita to Fuel Local and Regional Expansion
Arab Bank has signed a strategic financing agreement worth EGP 600 million with Edita Food Industries, a leading FMCG and packaged snack food company in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The deal is designed to accelerate Edita’s ambitious local and regional growth trajectories.
Fueling Expansion and New Production Lines in Egypt
The agreement aligns with Arab Bank’s commitment to providing tailored financial solutions for its corporate clients, leveraging its extensive global Arab banking network to support expansion ambitions. Under the terms of the deal, the EGP 600 million facility will directly fund Edita’s strategic expansion within the Egyptian market, including the launch of new production lines intended to solidify the company's regional footprint.
Cross-Border Banking in Morocco and Iraq
Beyond domestic financing, Arab Bank will deliver comprehensive cross-border banking services through its branches in Morocco and the Arab Bank of Iraq. This strategic alignment positions Arab Bank as a primary financial service provider for Edita's operations in both the Moroccan and Iraqi markets.
Amr Azab, Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking at Arab Bank – Egypt, stated that this financing reflects the bank’s dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its corporate clients with solutions that actively support their growth. He noted that the collaboration between Arab Bank branches in Egypt, Morocco, and Iraq demonstrates the institution's capability to effectively leverage its regional network to deliver seamless, cross-border financial services.
Edita's Growth and Market Demand
Sameh Naguib, Vice President of Edita Group, expressed pride in partnering with Arab Bank, citing the institution's extensive regional expertise and robust corporate banking solutions.
Naguib explained that the EGP 600 million injection will significantly enhance Edita’s capacity to meet the growing consumer demand for its products, further entrenching its market presence across the MENA region. He emphasized the company's eagerness to build on this partnership and utilize Arab Bank's regional infrastructure to support Edita's commercial operations, particularly in Iraq and Morocco.
Arab Bank remains one of the premier financial institutions in the MENA region, offering a holistic suite of banking services. Underscoring its regional dominance, the New York-based Global Finance magazine recently awarded Arab Bank the title of "Best Bank in the Middle East for 2026."
