UAE Gold Prices Edge Higher Across All Carats as Global Bullion Gains on Geopolitical Tensions and Softer Dollar

Gold prices in the United Arab Emirates recorded a relative increase across all carats on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, advancing modestly from Tuesday's settlement levels.

Globally, gold climbed during Wednesday's trading session, buoyed by a slight pullback in the U.S. dollar, escalating geopolitical friction between the United States and Iran, and investor anticipation surrounding key U.S. inflation data that could shape the Federal Reserve's upcoming monetary policy decisions.

Domestic Gold Prices in the UAE

According to the latest figures from the "gold-price" portal, which tracks precious metal benchmarks across Arab nations, retail gold prices in the UAE were recorded as follows:

24-Karat Gold: Quoted at AED 516.9 ($140.8) per gram.

22-Karat Gold: Reached AED 473.8 ($129.1) per gram.

21-Karat Gold: Stood at AED 452.3 ($123.2) per gram.

18-Karat Gold: Settled at AED 387.7 ($105.6) per gram.

Gold Ounce: Realized approximately AED 16,076.5 ($4,380.5).

1-Kilogram Gold Bar: Estimated at AED 520,489.9 ($141,822.9).

Global Market Dynamics

Spot gold advanced 0.4% to $4,372.19 per ounce by 02:30 GMT. In contrast, U.S. gold futures for December delivery dipped 0.5% to $4,416 per ounce.

A softer U.S. dollar contributed to the price support by making dollar-denominated bullion more affordable for holders of other currencies. Concurrently, data from the CME FedWatch tool indicated that market participants are pricing in a 60% probability that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates at its upcoming monetary policy meeting. While gold remains a traditional hedge against inflation and geopolitical instability, higher borrowing costs typically temper demand for the non-yielding asset.
