Cyshield Signs Cooperation Protocol with National Bank of Egypt to Enhance Cybersecurity Incident Response and AI-Powered Security Operations

Cyshield, a leading Egyptian cybersecurity and digital solutions company, has signed a cooperation protocol with the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) to develop and enhance the Bank’s cybersecurity capabilities and strengthen the efficiency of its cybersecurity incident response and management framework, supporting the protection of its digital systems and infrastructure against evolving cyber threats.

Under the protocol, Cyshield will support the development of NBE’s Cybersecurity Incident Response and Management Center, in addition to providing an advanced Security Operations Center (SOC) automation platform powered by Agentic AI. The solution is designed to enhance the Bank’s capabilities in security monitoring, analysis, detection, and response, enabling faster and more efficient handling of cybersecurity incidents.

The cooperation also includes studying opportunities for the broader adoption of Artificial Intelligence technologies across relevant areas of the Bank’s cybersecurity ecosystem. This aligns with NBE’s strategy to leverage emerging technologies to further develop its digital and cybersecurity capabilities while maintaining high standards of information security and digital resilience.

The partnership comes as part of NBE’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its information security framework and protect its digital infrastructure. As one of Egypt’s leading national banks and a key pillar of the country’s banking and economic ecosystem, ensuring the security and resilience of its digital infrastructure remains a strategic priority.

Through the partnership, Cyshield will contribute its specialized expertise across cybersecurity, Security Operations Centers, incident response and management, and AI-enabled security solutions, supporting NBE’s efforts to continuously strengthen its cybersecurity posture and keep pace with the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape.

The cooperation reflects both organizations’ commitment to continued investment in advanced technological and cybersecurity capabilities, enhancing the readiness of financial institutions to address emerging cyber threats and supporting the development of a more secure and resilient digital banking ecosystem.

Dr. Mostafa Essa, CEO of Cyshield, said:

“We are proud to collaborate with the National Bank of Egypt, and we view this partnership as an important model of cooperation between national institutions and specialized technology companies in supporting and advancing Egypt’s cybersecurity ecosystem. The integration of Agentic AI technologies into Security Operations Centers has the potential to significantly enhance organizations’ capabilities to detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats. We look forward to leveraging Cyshield’s expertise to support NBE with advanced solutions that address the continuously evolving cybersecurity threat landscape.”

Mohamed El-Etreby, CEO of the National Bank of Egypt, said:

“This cooperation protocol comes as part of NBE’s comprehensive strategy to further develop its information security framework and enhance its capabilities in addressing increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, both locally and globally. It also reflects the Bank’s commitment to keeping pace with the latest global developments in cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence, while strengthening its ability to proactively monitor and analyze risks and respond to security incidents with greater speed and efficiency.

“The rapid pace of digital transformation and technological advancement requires continued investment in digital infrastructure and cybersecurity capabilities across the banking sector. At NBE, securing customer data, banking transactions, and our technological infrastructure remains a top priority. This protocol reflects our commitment to leveraging the latest global technologies, particularly AI applications, to strengthen our ability to address cyber risks and enhance the efficiency of our protection and response framework. Cybersecurity has become a fundamental component of the sustainability of the banking sector and an essential enabler of trust in digital transformation.”

Abeer Khodr, Head of Cybersecurity Group at the National Bank of Egypt, said:

“Our cooperation with Cyshield will contribute significantly to addressing the rapidly evolving nature of cyber threats, which requires continuous investment in the latest technologies and solutions, particularly Artificial Intelligence. Developing the Cybersecurity Incident Response and Management Center and automating the Security Operations Center represent important steps toward enhancing the efficiency of security monitoring, analysis, and response, while strengthening the Bank’s ability to address threats proactively.

“Securing NBE’s information systems and digital infrastructure is a strategic priority, given the Bank’s position as one of Egypt’s leading national banks and the critical importance of securing the banking sector as part of Egypt’s national security framework.

“The protocol will focus on developing NBE’s Cybersecurity Incident Response and Management Center, deploying an advanced SOC automation platform powered by Agentic AI, and studying opportunities to expand the use of AI technologies across cybersecurity functions.

“The cooperation will also explore and identify opportunities for expanding AI applications within NBE’s cybersecurity ecosystem, supporting the development of early threat detection mechanisms, security data analysis, automated response processes, and enhanced Security Operations Center capabilities. These efforts will contribute to the continuity of digital banking services and strengthen customers’ confidence in the Egyptian banking ecosystem.”
