STC Bahrain Launches ”Bayan” Next-Generation Digital Contact Center at LEAP 2026

STC Bahrain announced the launch of "Bayan," an integrated next-generation digital contact center, during its participation in the LEAP 2026 conference. The initiative aims to reshape the customer service experience by employing advanced voice and digital agents, real-time assistance for customer service representatives, and automated tools for analyzing service quality and customer sentiment across various stages of the service journey.

The investment allocated for the initiative is valued at SAR 200,000 (approximately $53,300). "Bayan" offers immediate, around-the-clock support with a priority on the Arabic language, aligning with STC Bahrain's digital transformation strategy and its broader push to deploy advanced technologies within customer service operations.

Through this project, STC Bahrain becomes the first telecom operator in the Kingdom to implement an integrated contact center with native capabilities to understand local Arabic dialects. "Bayan" is specifically designed to process the nuances of Bahraini and Gulf Arabic dialects across voice, chat, and back-office channels, rather than relying on generic translation systems.

The center replaces traditional rule-based automation with advanced digital technologies. It targets processing up to 70% of routine communications without requiring escalation to a human agent, alongside reducing the average customer request handling time by up to 30%.

The phased rollout of "Bayan" is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the implementation gradually extending to all customer service channels by 2027. STC Bahrain is executing the project in partnership with "Nabeeh," a subsidiary of "Master Works," utilizing the "Baseer" platform.

Governed Data Architecture

From its initial design phase, the center has been built on a governed data architecture that strictly complies with the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Law. This approach embeds customer data protection directly into the operational ecosystem, running parallel to the introduction of AI and automation tools into customer service workflows.

STC Bahrain emphasized that the advanced technology driving the "Bayan" model is intended to support customer service employees, not replace them. The system equips operational teams with real-time insights and information to help them seamlessly address customer needs while maintaining rigorous data privacy standards, ultimately boosting customer satisfaction and empowering national talent in the Kingdom.

"Nabeeh" stated that the partnership with STC Bahrain represents a significant milestone in integrating advanced technologies into customer service operations. The collaboration focuses on developing practical, scalable solutions with measurable operational impacts, enhancing overall efficiency and elevating the quality of services provided.

The launch of "Bayan" highlights STC Bahrain's participation in LEAP 2026 and reflects the company’s commitment to integrating advanced digital technologies into the business environment. By combining technical capabilities, human expertise, and robust data governance frameworks, the initiative directly supports Bahrain's broader vision of building a highly advanced digital economy.
