Volvo ES90 Arrives in Egypt at EGP 3.9 Million as Brand Expands Its Electric Lineup
Volvo is adding a new all-electric flagship sedan to its Egyptian lineup, introducing the ES90 in a single Ultra trim as the Swedish brand expands its presence in the country’s premium electric vehicle segment.
The new model is being offered through Ezz Elarab Automotive, Volvo’s official importer in Egypt, with its official price currently listed at EGP 3.95 million.
Rather than simply converting the traditional luxury sedan formula to electric power, the ES90 sits somewhere between segments. Its five-meter body gives it the proportions of a large executive sedan, while its raised profile and liftback-style practicality bring some of the characteristics increasingly associated with crossovers.
For Volvo, that makes the ES90 an important addition as premium buyers gradually gain more electric choices in Egypt.
755 kilometers on a charge
The Egyptian-market ES90 is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 333 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque, sending power to the rear wheels.
Its 92kWh battery delivers a claimed driving range of up to 755 kilometers, giving the car one of its strongest selling points for buyers who remain concerned about how far an EV can travel between charges.
Top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h.
The ES90 is also a substantial car physically, measuring around five meters long and 1.94 meters wide, with a wheelbase of 3.1 meters. That long wheelbase is particularly important in an electric sedan, where the absence of a conventional combustion drivetrain allows more of the vehicle’s footprint to be used for passenger space.
Volvo takes its electric push further upmarket
The arrival of the ES90 broadens Volvo’s electric proposition in Egypt beyond the smaller EX30.
While the EX30 provides the brand with a more accessible entry point into electric mobility, the ES90 targets a very different buyer — one looking for an executive car where technology, range and interior space matter as much as outright performance.
The ES90 is being introduced in just one Ultra specification, simplifying the local lineup rather than splitting the model across several equipment levels.
The equipment package includes a panoramic roof, electrically adjustable seats, a touchscreen infotainment system, navigation and an extensive suite of driver-assistance and safety technologies.
That technology-heavy approach is particularly significant for Volvo, a brand that has traditionally built much of its identity around safety but is now increasingly combining that reputation with software, electrification and connected-car technology.
A new price point for Volvo’s electric range
The ES90 also fills a considerable price gap inside Volvo’s electric portfolio.
The smaller EX30 is currently positioned below EGP 2 million in some 2026 configurations, while the recently introduced seven-seat EX90 sits much higher at around EGP 4.9 million. The ES90 therefore gives Volvo an electric offering between the compact end of the range and its largest electric SUV.
Its current pricing is also notable because the model had previously been listed at EGP 4.29 million before Ezz Elarab reduced the price by EGP 340,000 in August to EGP 3.95 million.
That adjustment puts the ES90 into an increasingly competitive part of Egypt’s premium EV market, where established European manufacturers are no longer competing only with each other but also with a growing number of technology-heavy electric models from Chinese brands.
For Volvo, the ES90 therefore carries a bigger job than simply adding another model to the showroom.
It gives the brand a long-range electric executive car positioned between its smallest and largest EVs — and another opportunity to test how far Egyptian premium-car buyers are prepared to move away from combustion engines when the electric alternative can offer more than 700 kilometers of claimed range.
