Creativa Innovation Hubs Announce AI Hackathon Winners Nationwide
Creativa Innovation Hubs and the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), part of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), have announced the 85 winners of the AI Hackathon, held on August 16–20 in 17 governorates, in partnership with Orange Digital Center (ODC) and the Instant educational platform.
AI Hackathon is a competition series that encourages young people to use AI tools in building innovative, market-ready solutions. This year drew strong interest from students and graduates alike, with more than 15,000 applicants from across Egypt.
Competitions took place at Creativa Innovation Hubs in Cairo, Alexandria, Damanhour, Tanta, Mansoura, Menoufia, Banha, Zagazig, Ismailia, Port Said, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Sohag, Qena, New Valley, and Aswan, as part of ongoing efforts to bring digital training programs to young people nationwide.
The program paired theoretical learning with hands-on practice, covering advanced AI technologies such as large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and vector databases. Participants also learned to design and build reliable AI applications and systems, putting these skills to work in the competition itself.
Each governorate selected five winning projects, bringing the total to 85 out of 300 entries. Judges evaluated projects on both the quality of their proposed solutions and how effectively they applied AI technologies.
Winning teams received a range of benefits to support their technical growth and careers in tech: certificates for top-performing participants, a one-year subscription to the Instant platform, and access to partner programs focused on youth development and digital skills.
The hackathon reflects the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and ITIDA's commitment to build young people's digital skills, encourage innovation, and offer hands-on training in advanced tech fields, helping develop Egyptian talent that can compete in local and global job markets.
Creativa Innovation Hubs are a national initiative launched by MCIT and run by ITIDA through TIEC. These spaces offer an enabling environment for supporting students, graduates, entrepreneurs, SME owners, and startups with specialized programs that build digital capacity, nurture creativity and entrepreneurship, and help accelerate digital transformation and grow the digital economy nationwide.
