Port Said Emerges as a Core Hub for Egyptian Industry and Exports, Says Kapci Coating

Port Said has undergone a major industrial transformation in recent years, leveraging its strategic geographic location, advanced port infrastructure, and logistics capabilities to become a premier manufacturing and export hub in Egypt.
Amr El-Sayed, Commercial Director of Kapci Coatings and board member of the Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council, highlighted the governorate's growing industrial diversity. Alongside Kapci’s leadership in the paints sector, Port Said now hosts major exporting facilities in ready-made garments and chemical production, including caustic soda and chlorine.
"Egypt Takes Off with Exports" Initiative
Speaking on Kapci's participation in the "Egypt Takes Off with Exports" initiative, El-Sayed emphasized the company's commitment to mentoring emerging manufacturers. Recently, Kapci Chairman Eng. Mohamed El-Sayed hosted a delegation from the initiative to showcase a practical model of industrial scaling.
El-Sayed outlined Kapci's evolution to inspire smaller enterprises and demonstrate the requirements for global competitiveness:
Product Expansion: The company transitioned from manufacturing a limited range of paints to developing a massive portfolio of approximately 5,000 product types.
Global Reach: Kapci currently exports its products to over 60 countries worldwide.
Core Strategy: Success was driven by continuous technological investment, product diversification, and a deep understanding of global market requirements.
El-Sayed stressed that large corporations bear a social and industrial responsibility to guide smaller companies entering the export market, whether through technical assistance, consultation, or knowledge sharing. He concluded that integrating state efforts, export councils, and established manufacturers is essential to broadening Egypt's exporter base and strengthening the global footprint of Egyptian products.
