Anthropic Signs $35B Cloud Computing Deal with Nvidia-Backed Lambda for Texas AI Data Center
Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic has inked a massive $35 billion cloud computing agreement with Lambda, an Nvidia-backed cloud infrastructure provider, to secure computing capacity at a major data center in Texas, according to a source familiar with the matter on Monday.
The 350-megawatt facility, currently under development in Nueces County, Texas, is being built by Hut 8—a digital infrastructure company that has pivoted from cryptocurrency mining toward developing specialized high-performance computing centers for AI workloads.
Representatives for Anthropic, Nvidia, Hut 8, and Lambda did not immediately respond to requests for comment outside regular business hours.
