Eurozone Annual Inflation Accelerates to 3.3% in August Amid Persistent Price Pressures

Annual inflation in the Eurozone accelerated to 3.3% in August 2026, climbing from 2.9% the previous month. The uptick highlights persistent price pressures across the bloc, arriving at a critical moment as investors and markets closely monitor the European Central Bank's (ECB) upcoming interest rate decisions and monetary policy trajectory.

In contrast to the rising headline figure, preliminary data points to a slight cooling in underlying price growth. Eurozone annual core inflation, which strips out volatile components such as food and energy prices, eased to 2.4% during the same period, down marginally from 2.5% in July.
