US Dominates Global Fintech Investment in H1 2026 with $80.8 Billion, KPMG Reports

The United States continued to dominate the global fintech investment landscape in the first half of 2026, capturing $80.8 billion and accounting for the lion's share of capital flows into the sector during this period.

According to a KPMG report, fintech investments in the Americas surged to $86.9 billion in H1 2026, a sharp increase from $47.1 billion in the second half of 2025, driven primarily by the enduring strength of the US market.

Global fintech investments reached $103.1 billion in the first half of the year, compared to $72.2 billion in H2 2025, reflecting a significant rebound in capital flows into the sector.

Regional Disparities and Geopolitical Headwinds

Conversely, the KPMG report highlighted that fintech investments in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region declined to $11.3 billion, down from $18 billion in the previous period, amid lingering economic, political, and geopolitical uncertainties.

Investments in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region also dropped, falling to $4.6 billion in H1 2026 compared to $7.1 billion in the second half of 2025. However, KPMG noted that the APAC figures do not fully encapsulate the true scale of fintech activity in China. The Chinese market heavily relies on internal corporate investments, partnerships, and strategic alliances, operating outside traditional venture capital, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) channels.

The geographical distribution of these investments underscores the continued concentration of capital in markets housing large, highly scalable fintech firms. The US firmly retains its position as the world's premier hub for attracting sector investments.

Ultimately, the robust US performance reflects its enduring status as the primary engine for fintech innovation, with numerous other markets continuing to rely on it as a foundational model for developing their own technical and financial capabilities.
