Food Industry Exports Reach $4.47 Billion in 7 Months, Up 10.7%

The Food Industry Export Council announced that the sector’s exports totaled approximately $4.47 billion from January through July 2026, compared to approximately $4.04 billion during the same period in 2025, marking a year-over-year growth of 10.7%.
The Council explained that Egyptian food industry exports increased by approximately $433 million during the first seven months of this year compared to the corresponding period last year, reflecting the continued upward trend in the sector’s export performance in foreign markets.
The Council noted that the value of exports recorded from January through July 2026 is the highest for the corresponding period from 2016 to 2026, having risen from approximately $1.62 billion in the first seven months of 2016 to $1.69 billion in 2017, then to $1.82 billion in 2018, and $1.93 billion in 2019.
Exports from the sector totaled approximately $1.92 billion from January through July 2020, before entering a phase of accelerated growth to reach $2.37 billion in 2021, then $2.72 billion in 2022, approximately $3.16 billion in 2023, reaching $3.74 billion in 2024, and $4.04 billion in 2025, before reaching $4.47 billion during the first seven months of 2026.
The Food Industries Export Council emphasized that the steady growth in export value in recent years reflects the increasing ability of Egyptian food products to penetrate foreign markets and become more competitive, as well as the expansion of the base of markets importing Egyptian products.
