 Egypt’s total reclaimed agricultural land reached 204,300 feddans during the fiscal year 2024/2025, according to the annual Land Reclamation Bulletin released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Private sector companies led reclamation efforts, accounting for 103,300 feddans or 50.6% of the total area reclaimed during the fiscal year. National Service Projects followed with 74,200 feddans (36.3%), while the 1.5 Million Feddan project under the Egyptian Countryside Development Company contributed 23,700 feddans (11.6%), and agricultural cooperative associations reclaimed 3,000 feddans (1.5%).

Under the flagship 1.5 Million Feddan Project, the cumulative cultivated area expanded to 480,000 feddans by 2024/2025, marking a 9.5% increase compared to 438,400 feddans in 2023/2024. Meanwhile, total reclaimed land under the initiative reached 1.1 million feddans, with Minya Governorate securing the top position with 482,800 feddans (43.9% of the project’s total).

The bulletin also highlighted growth in agro-industrial infrastructure, with land dedicated to livestock production projects (dairy, fattening, and livestock breeding) across reclaimed areas rising by 13.8% to reach 322 feddans in 2024/2025, up from 283 feddans in the previous fiscal year.
