The Environment Committee of the Tenth of Ramadan Investors Association has unveiled a comprehensive strategic plan to transform the industrial hub into a green city. Dr. Ahmed Fathi, Head of the Environment Committee, emphasized that adopting green manufacturing practices is a critical pillar for sustainable development, aimed at reducing carbon emissions and enhancing resource and energy efficiency.
The strategy was discussed during a committee session attended by representatives from over 30 companies aiming to transition to a green economy, alongside officials from the Sustainability and Green Economy Department of the Industrial Modernization Centre (IMC). Key discussions centered on the necessity of environmental registries for factories, electronic footprints, and the integration of industrial waste treatment into the production cycle to boost export competitiveness.
Dr. Hala Mohamed Salah Eldin, Director General of the Association, highlighted that the green economy serves as a strategic lifeline for the industrial sector. She noted that shifting toward renewable energy and minimizing solid, liquid, and gaseous waste will significantly lower production costs and elevate the global competitiveness of local manufacturers.
