Banque Misr UAE Announces Acceptance of ”Jaywan” Cards Across Its ATM Network

Banque Misr UAE has announced that "Jaywan" cards are now accepted across all its Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), enabling cardholders to execute their banking transactions easily, swiftly, and securely around the clock.

The bank clarified that its ATMs can now process all "Jaywan" cards, granting customers access to banking services and the ability to conduct cash transactions through a more seamless and flexible banking experience.

This step coincides with the expanded rollout and adoption of "Jaywan," the UAE's domestic card scheme overseen by Al Etihad Payments, a subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE). The scheme aims to bolster the national payments infrastructure and provide secure, rapid, and user-friendly local payment solutions.

Jaywan Card Capabilities

The "Jaywan" cards support a variety of financial uses, which continue to see expanding issuance and acceptance by banks and financial institutions operating in the UAE. These include:

Cash withdrawals via ATMs.

In-store point-of-sale (POS) payments.

Online e-commerce purchases.

Enhancing the Digital Ecosystem

The availability of "Jaywan" cards on Banque Misr UAE’s ATM network reflects the widening acceptance of the national payment system. This enhances cardholders' ability to access daily banking services without needing to rely exclusively on a single banking network.

This move also aligns with the rapid advancements in the UAE’s payment sector. The country is actively working to build a more integrated digital financial ecosystem, promote the use of domestic payment solutions, and upgrade the efficiency of its financial transaction infrastructure.

Banque Misr UAE continues to develop its digital services and banking channels in line with the growing shift toward electronic banking and a reduced reliance on traditional cash transactions, focusing heavily on providing highly accessible and secure services to its clients.

"Jaywan" began its expansion in the UAE market as the country’s premier domestic card scheme. Financial institutions are progressively scaling up the issuance and acceptance of these cards in successive phases to support comprehensive market penetration.
