Apple has released iOS 26.6.1, iPadOS 26.6.1 and macOS Tahoe 26.6.2, addressing 29 CVE-listed security vulnerabilities affecting WebKit, the operating system kernel and other system components. The company said there is currently no evidence that the fixed flaws have been exploited in attacks, but urged users to install the updates as soon as possible.

Apple Fixes 21 WebKit Vulnerabilities

WebKit accounted for the largest share of the security fixes, with Apple addressing 21 vulnerabilities in the browser engine. Some of the flaws could lead to memory corruption or cause Safari to crash.

Nine of the vulnerabilities are credited to OpenAI's Codex Security system, highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence tools in identifying security weaknesses and accelerating vulnerability discovery.

Apple also fixed an audio-system vulnerability that could have allowed an application to leak sensitive information from a user's device, along with three vulnerabilities affecting the operating system kernel.

iOS Update Addresses Network Authentication Flaw

For iPhone users, iOS 26.6.1 fixes a communications-related vulnerability that could have been exploited by an attacker with a privileged position within a network.

According to Apple's security documentation, the flaw could allow an attacker to bypass authentication through IPSec security protocols and intercept network traffic.

Apple Urges Users to Install the Updates

Apple said it is not aware of any active exploitation of the vulnerabilities addressed in the latest releases. Nevertheless, the company recommends installing the updates promptly.

Some of the security fixes had previously appeared in beta versions of iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate.

Apple also released iOS 18.7.10 and iPadOS 18.7.10 for devices that cannot run iOS 26 or iPadOS 26. However, the company did not release equivalent updates for macOS Sequoia or macOS Sonoma on Mac devices that are unable to run macOS Tahoe.

Users can install the updates by opening Settings, selecting General, and then tapping Software Update.
