According to sources familiar with the matter, the price increases primarily apply to advanced fabrication nodes, specifically the 4nm (SF4) and 5nm (SF5) process technologies. Customers based in the United States and China are facing the full brunt of the 10% to 15% hikes, while clients in Taiwan are seeing more moderate adjustments ranging between 5% and 10%.

The price hikes reflect a notable recovery in Samsung’s pricing power and foundry utilization rates, driven by improving manufacturing yields and a slate of strategic production contracts secured with major global players in AI accelerators, high-performance computing (HPC), and automotive semiconductors.
