ITI Launches Training Program on Digitizing Cultural Heritage, Museums

The Information Technology Institute (ITI) is launching a specialized training program titled "Digitization, Digital Fabrication, and Museum Display: Modern Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in Museum Collections Management and Documentation" on September 6–10. The training is delivered in collaboration with the Arab Council of the General Union of Arab Archaeologists — which operates under the Association of Arab Universities — and with Zafaran Museum, where sessions will take place alongside ITI's premises.

The program reflects a shared commitment to equipping Arab professionals working in cultural heritage with the digital tools needed to preserve, document, manage, and display museum collections. This comes as the museum and heritage sector worldwide undergoes rapid digital transformation, with artificial intelligence playing an increasingly central role in documenting collections, managing data, and conserving heritage.

The training combines academic grounding with hands-on practice. Its key topics include digital representation of cultural collections, digital imaging and documentation using 3D scanning, digital fabrication and the reproduction of artifacts through 3D printing, AI applications supporting the management and maintenance of museum collections, and the design of interactive museum experiences using augmented and virtual reality.

Registration is open to museum and heritage institution staff, archaeology specialists, and graduates of archaeology and arts faculties, as well as anyone looking to build technical skills in heritage digitization.
