Al Ahly Momken Explores Digital Banking Launch, Targets Over EGP 300 Billion in 2026 Transactions
Al Ahly Momken for E-Payments, a subsidiary of Al Ahly Capital for Payments, is currently studying the launch of digital banking services in the future. The initiative aims to advance financial inclusion by targeting the unbanked population, as part of the company’s broader expansion strategy across financial services and digital payments.
In statements to the financial technology portal FinTech Gate, Ahmed Farouk Ghazy, CEO and Managing Director of Al Ahly Momken, stated that the company is closely monitoring developments in Egypt's digital banking framework. He confirmed that the firm is assessing the feasibility of launching digital banking services, though no final decision has been reached regarding a specific timeline.
2026 Expansion Targets and Financial Goals
Al Ahly Momken has outlined aggressive growth objectives for 2026, aiming to surpass EGP 300 billion in total business and transaction volume. The comprehensive expansion strategy focuses on growing its customer and merchant base, deploying additional Point of Sale (POS) terminals, rolling out new digital products, and extending its physical reach by opening branches across multiple governorates, alongside ongoing investments in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence (AI).
