Visa and SF Express Hong Kong Partner to Enable Contactless Card Payments for Doorstep Courier Deliveries
Global digital payments leader Visa has partnered with SF Express Hong Kong Limited to expand contactless payment acceptance across door-to-door parcel delivery services. The collaboration enables consumers to settle shipping fees directly at their doorstep upon sending or receiving packages via delivery couriers.
Under the agreement, SF Express Hong Kong couriers will be equipped with smart handheld point-of-sale (POS) terminals capable of processing Visa card transactions. This gives consumers a digital payment alternative for both shipping freight charges and cash-on-delivery (COD) settlements, significantly reducing reliance on physical currency.
Expanding Logistics Network Capabilities
The initiative enhances the payment experience within Hong Kong’s high-density logistics landscape. SF Express Hong Kong operates an extensive local infrastructure comprising more than 140 self-operated retail branches and service points across the territory, offering significant scale for the contactless payment rollout.
