OPPO Launches Reno16 Series in Egypt After Reno15 Drives 39% Sales Growth
OPPO has launched its new Reno16 smartphone lineup in Egypt, introducing three models — the Reno16, Reno16 Pro and Reno16 F — as the company looks to build on the strong local performance of the previous Reno generation and expand its position in Egypt’s mid-to-premium smartphone segment.
The new series arrives under the “Your Vibe, Your Way” campaign and places a heavy emphasis on mobile photography, AI-assisted content creation and personalization. It also introduces OPPO’s 3D Pop Planet Design alongside new camera and editing tools and the latest ColorOS 16 experience.
The launch follows a strong first half of 2026 for the Reno family in Egypt. According to figures disclosed by OPPO, the Reno15 Series helped the company secure the No. 1 position in the EGP 20,000–40,000 smartphone segment during the period.
OPPO also said lifecycle sales of the Reno15 Series increased 39% compared with the Reno14 generation, while sales of the standard and Pro models priced above $550 recorded growth of 119%.
Those figures provide an important backdrop for the Reno16 launch, with OPPO seeking to carry that momentum into a generation built around a more distinctive design and an expanded set of AI and imaging capabilities.
200MP Camera Leads the Reno16 Pro
Photography remains central to the Reno16 proposition, with the three phones featuring a rear triple-camera setup combining a high-resolution main camera with optical image stabilization, a telephoto portrait camera offering around 3.5x optical zoom, and an ultra-wide camera.
The Reno16 Pro moves further upmarket with a 200MP Ultra Clear Main Camera, designed to retain more detail when users crop or reframe images.
Across the series, OPPO has also equipped the phones with a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera offering a 100-degree field of view, targeting group shots and wider compositions.
A new feature called Pop Cam brings Digicam, Instant Film and Light Leak shooting styles directly into the native camera application, reflecting OPPO’s broader push to position the Reno line around social content creation rather than camera hardware alone.
Video recording also receives several additions. 4K Auto Straighten Video is designed to automatically keep footage level while the user is moving, while Dual View Video 2.0 improves stabilization and allows smoother transitions between rear cameras during recording.
AI Moves Deeper Into Photo Editing
OPPO is also expanding the role of generative and assistive AI across the Reno16 Series.
A new Create hub inside the Photos application consolidates a range of AI-powered editing tools. AI Remix Collage can combine photographs and short videos into layered compositions with text, animated stickers and visual effects, while Popout Collage 2.0 allows subjects to extend beyond conventional image frames.
The phones run ColorOS 16, which introduces a dedicated AI Snap Key to the Reno Series for the first time. The button provides quick access to AI Mind Space, where information displayed on the screen can be captured and organized for later use.
One of the more practical additions is AI Bill Manager, which can identify digital payments and physical receipts and organize them into spending records.
OPPO is also introducing AI Mind Pilot, which can coordinate different AI models and recommend an appropriate model depending on the task, while allowing users to compare responses.
For users travelling abroad, AI Menu Translation combines translation with visual information about unfamiliar dishes rather than simply translating their names.
Up to 7,000mAh Battery and 80W Charging
Battery capacity is another major focus of the new generation.
Models across the Reno16 family carry batteries of at least 6,700mAh, while the Reno16 F can offer capacity of up to 7,000mAh depending on the market and configuration. The lineup supports charging speeds of up to 80W through OPPO’s SUPERVOOC technology.
The Reno16 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8550 Super platform and combines the chipset with AI HyperBoost 3.0, an upgraded cooling system and refresh rates reaching 144Hz in supported games.
The standard Reno16, meanwhile, uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 mobile platform.
OPPO has also introduced AI LinkBoost 4.0 across the lineup, targeting more consistent connectivity in congested environments and areas with weaker network coverage, particularly during gaming, streaming and video calls.
New 3D Pop Planet Design
The Reno16 generation also introduces a new visual identity through what OPPO calls its 3D Pop Planet Design, featured on the Pop White version.
The Reno16 and Reno16 F will additionally be offered in Twilight Violet and Dream Purple, while the Reno16 Pro comes in Pop White and Starlight Black.
Across the lineup, OPPO uses a one-piece cold-sculpted rear cover designed to create a smoother transition between the back panel and camera module.
Lay Ren, President of OPPO Middle East and Africa, said Egypt remains one of the company’s most important regional markets, adding that the performance of previous Reno models reflects growing demand among younger consumers for smartphones that combine design, imaging and intelligent software.
He said the Reno16 generation builds on that positioning with new features including Pop Cam, 4K Auto Straighten Video, AI Snap Key and the expanded ColorOS 16 experience.
OPPO Bubble Turns Into a Remote Camera Monitor
Alongside the smartphones, OPPO is introducing an unusual new accessory called OPPO Bubble, designed as a magnetic companion for content creation.
The 35-gram device attaches to compatible cases or rings and incorporates an AMOLED screen that can operate as a live monitor for the smartphone’s rear camera.
Users can preview their shots and remotely control the camera from distances of up to 10 meters, potentially making it easier to take group photographs or use the higher-quality rear cameras for self-recording.
The device can also function as a customizable accessory, displaying images, animations, text and colors configured through its companion application.
With Reno16, OPPO is effectively building on a formula that delivered significant growth for its predecessor in Egypt, but with the competitive battle shifting increasingly toward AI features, creator-focused cameras, larger batteries and software experiences rather than specifications alone.
