Egyptian Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk announced that the government aims to allocate EGP 6 billion for the cash disbursement of the third batch of overdue exporter dues, specifically covering shipments made prior to July 1, 2024.

The Minister detailed that exporting companies wishing to benefit from this third phase of the Cash Settlement Initiative can submit their applications starting from August 16 to October 1, with the actual disbursements scheduled for October 22.

Financial Commitments and Budget Allocations

Highlighting the government's sustained support for the export sector, Kouchouk stated, "We have disbursed over EGP 80 billion to exporters over the past six years, and our target is to clear all outstanding arrears within two years."

Strategic Coordination for Export Growth

The Minister elaborated that there is ongoing coordination and seamless integration with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade. This collaboration is designed to upgrade the export ecosystem and provide robust incentives for the sector.

"We are actively working to provide necessary cash liquidity to stimulate the growth and competitiveness of our commodity and service exports," Kouchouk affirmed, noting that the state is targeting substantial annual increases in export support allocations to help local products penetrate new global markets.

Previous Cash Settlements

On her part, Nevine Mansour, Advisor to the Minister for Economic Institutions Relations, highlighted the progress made during the previous fiscal cycle.

"We disbursed EGP 12.6 billion in cash to approximately 2,500 exporting companies during the last fiscal year," Mansour stated. She explained that this amount represents the combined total of the first and second batches of overdue arrears, which were proactively settled in cash during FY 2025/2026 instead of being staggered over two fiscal years.
