Egypt’s Youth Minister and saib Bank CEO Explore Strategic Partnership to Boost Sports Investment and Financial Inclusion
Gohar Nabil, Egypt's Minister of Youth and Sports, met with Afdal Naguib, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of saib Bank, to explore avenues for enhancing joint cooperation across various fields. The discussions primarily focused on youth and sports activities, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and financial inclusion, aligning with the state's broader efforts to empower the youth and stimulate sports investment.
The high-level meeting featured extensive deliberations on key strategic pillars aimed at developing the investment ecosystem within youth and sports facilities, alongside upgrading the services provided therein.

Afdal Naguib, CEO and Managing Director of saib Bank, emphasized that this collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports is a core component of the bank's CSR strategy. He reaffirmed the bank's dedication to supporting the youth and sports sectors, recognizing them as fundamental pillars for achieving sustainable development.
Naguib highlighted the bank’s keen interest in initiatives designed to empower young people, encourage sports participation, and prepare a new generation capable of competing on the global sporting stage. He commended the Ministry’s active role in fostering youth empowerment, which contributes to building a generation that will serve as the driving force for Egypt’s future.
"We firmly believe that investing in youth and sports is an investment in the nation's future. Therefore, we aim to broaden our collaborative scope with the Ministry, particularly in driving financial inclusion and motivating champion athletes, creating a mutually beneficial model that secures a brighter future for Egyptian youth," Naguib stated.
Expanding Partnerships with the Banking Sector
On his part, Minister Gohar Nabil underscored the Ministry's strong commitment to forging robust partnerships with leading national institutions, particularly within the banking sector. These alliances are crucial for advancing the state’s agenda to build the Egyptian citizen's capabilities, expand the base of sports practitioners, and sponsor gifted athletes across various disciplines.
Nabil noted that the collaboration with saib Bank serves as an exemplary model of integration between state institutions and the banking sector in executing high-impact, sustainable developmental initiatives.
"We are operating under a comprehensive vision to cultivate a supportive environment for youth and athletes—not merely through infrastructure development, but by building effective partnerships with the private and banking sectors. This approach enhances sports investment opportunities, supports talent discovery programs, and spreads the culture of financial inclusion among the youth, fully aligning with Egypt Vision 2030," the Minister explained.
The Minister concluded by welcoming all initiatives that serve the youth and sports sectors. He affirmed that the upcoming phase will witness the rollout of expanded joint programs and initiatives designed to deliver genuine added value to Egyptian youth, build their capacities, and elevate the competitiveness of Egyptian sports on both regional and international levels.
