Thndr Captures Quarter of Egypt’s Brokerage Market as Top 10 Firms Trade Over EGP 83 Billion

Thndr Securities Brokerage captured nearly a quarter of trading activity on the Egyptian Exchange during the latest weekly ranking, extending the digital investment platform’s rapid rise in Egypt’s brokerage industry as trading volumes among the market’s largest firms continued to climb.

Thndr ranked first among brokerage companies with transactions representing around 25% of total market activity, putting considerable distance between the fintech-led brokerage platform and several of Egypt’s long-established securities firms.

Combined trading values across the 10 largest brokerage companies exceeded EGP 83 billion, highlighting the scale of activity passing through the market’s leading intermediaries and the increasing concentration of transactions among the top-ranked firms.

Thndr’s performance is particularly notable given its digital-first business model, which has helped attract a new generation of retail investors by simplifying access to the Egyptian stock market through mobile-based investing.

The company’s rise has also added a new dimension to competition in the brokerage industry, where traditional investment banks and securities companies are increasingly competing with technology-driven platforms for both trading volumes and individual investors.

Digital investment platforms have gained momentum in Egypt as easier account opening, mobile trading and greater access to financial information lower some of the traditional barriers to stock market participation.

Thndr has sought to capitalize on that shift by expanding beyond conventional equity trading and building a broader investment platform aimed at making different asset classes more accessible to individual investors.

The latest brokerage rankings reinforce a wider change taking place in Egypt’s capital market, where technology is increasingly influencing how investors enter the market, execute transactions and manage their investments.

With roughly one in every four pounds of brokerage activity passing through Thndr during the period, the company’s latest performance signals how quickly digital investment platforms are reshaping competitive dynamics in Egypt’s securities industry.
