CAPMAS: Egypt-Bahrain Trade Exchange Reaches $301.1 Million in 2025 Amid Royal Visit to Cairo
In the framework of strengthening bilateral relations and distinguished cooperation between Egypt and Bahrain across various fields, and to discuss the latest regional and international developments of mutual interest, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi receives today His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain.
Coinciding with this official visit, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) issued a press release on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, highlighting the robust economic relations between the two nations.
According to CAPMAS data, the total volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Bahrain reached $301.1 million in 2025, compared to $643.8 million in 2024.
The value of Egyptian exports to Bahrain stood at $77.4 million in 2025, slightly down from $78.1 million in 2024. Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from Bahrain recorded $223.7 million in 2025, compared to $565.7 million in the previous year.

Vegetables and fruits: $21.7 million
Food preparations: $9 million
Electrical machinery and equipment: $8.3 million
Tobacco: $4.5 million
Cocoa and its preparations: $4.4 million
Top Egyptian Imports from Bahrain in 2025:
Metal ores: $124 million
Aluminum and its articles: $70.3 million
Iron and steel: $8.5 million
Copper and its articles: $8.4 million
Fish, crustaceans, and mollusks: $2.2 million
Investments and Remittances
The report also detailed bilateral investments. Bahraini investments in Egypt grew to $329.7 million during the fiscal year 2024/2025, up from $305.9 million in FY 2023/2024. Conversely, Egyptian investments in Bahrain reached $72.6 million in FY 2024/2025, compared to $66.9 million during the previous fiscal year.
Remittances from Egyptians working in Bahrain saw a significant surge, reaching $161.1 million in FY 2024/2025, compared to $78.5 million in FY 2023/2024. On the other hand, remittances from Bahrainis working in Egypt amounted to $976,000 in FY 2024/2025, compared to $1 million in the previous fiscal year.
Demographic Indicators
Providing demographic context, CAPMAS noted that Egypt's population reached 109.4 million as of August 2026, while the Kingdom of Bahrain's population stood at 1.7 million during the same period. Additionally, the number of Egyptian expatriates residing in Bahrain was estimated at 27.6 thousand by the end of 2024, according to diplomatic mission estimates.
