MA Group Taps Meadis to Shape Operations and Tenant Strategy for West Cairo Projects
Egyptian developer MA Group has signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with Meadis to develop the operational and commercial strategy for its projects in West Cairo, as the company moves to embed professional management and leasing expertise from the early stages of development.
Under the agreement, Meadis will provide engineering consultancy, operational planning and commercial development services across MA Group’s portfolio. Its mandate also includes preparing a tenant-mix strategy and attracting local, regional and international brands to the projects.
The partnership is intended to improve occupancy rates, strengthen customer experience and support the long-term performance of the assets, reflecting a broader shift in Egypt’s property market toward developments planned around operations and recurring commercial value rather than construction alone.
The agreement was signed by Mohamed Ayoub, Chairman and Founder of MA Group, and Wael Shawkat, Chairman and Founder of Meadis.
Ayoub said the developer is seeking to create integrated destinations capable of generating sustainable value for investors, tenants and visitors, noting that location and architectural design are no longer sufficient on their own to guarantee the success of commercial projects.
He added that operational quality, brand selection and the ability to create a compelling visitor experience have become central to maintaining demand and protecting asset value over the long term.
Meadis will work with MA Group from the planning stage to define how the developments will operate, identify the most suitable commercial concepts and build a balanced mix of tenants aligned with market demand.
Shawkat said successful retail projects increasingly depend on understanding consumer behaviour and treating commercial properties as destinations rather than collections of individual outlets.
Meadis operates across Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Italy, with activities covering retail development, destination management, commercial strategy and mixed-use asset operations.
The agreement comes as MA Group expands its pipeline in West Cairo, where demand for professionally managed commercial and mixed-use developments continues to attract developers, retailers and investors.
