India’s Primetrace Targets $500 Million Valuation in New Funding Round
BENGALURU — Indian social technology startup Primetrace Technologies is in advanced talks to raise $50 million in fresh funding, a deal that would value the company at $500 million, more than tripling its valuation from its previous fundraising round in 2021, according to people familiar with the matter.
The Bengaluru-based company, which operates the community platform Kutumb along with a growing portfolio of consumer AI applications, is reportedly in discussions with 360 One Asset and other investors to back the new financing round. Neither Primetrace nor the prospective investor has publicly confirmed the negotiations.
Founded in 2020 by former employees of digital storytelling platform Pratilipi, Primetrace has rapidly expanded its footprint across India's non-metro markets. Its products include social networking, AI-powered content creation, personalized greetings, community platforms and niche consumer applications designed for regional-language users.
The company has also emerged as a profitable player in India's consumer technology sector. According to sources, Primetrace generates an annualized revenue run rate exceeding ₹600 crore (about $63 million) and serves roughly 70 million monthly active users across its portfolio of applications.
The fresh capital is expected to accelerate the development of new consumer-facing artificial intelligence products while expanding existing platforms. Among its latest launches is Polo, a dating and community app aimed at LGBTQ+ users, as the company broadens its portfolio beyond traditional social networking services.
If completed, the funding round would represent a significant milestone for Primetrace, lifting its valuation from approximately $150 million during its Series A financing in 2021 to $500 million, underscoring growing investor confidence in AI-driven consumer technology startups in India.
