NTI Wraps Up Phase I of Third Cybersecurity Academy for Juniors and Youth, Training 1,500 Students
The National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) has wrapped up the first phase of the third edition of its Cybersecurity Academy for Juniors and Youth, training more than 1,500 students aged 12 to 14 from 17 governorates.
Sessions were held at NTI branches and Creativa Innovation Hubs in Lower Egypt, Upper Egypt, the Canal cities, Sinai, and the New Capital. The program was implemented in cooperation with the Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT) of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), and in partnership with leading local and international companies.
The Academy is designed to build a solid foundation in cybersecurity, sharpen digital awareness, and encourage safe, responsible technology use among young people. It is part of MCIT's broader push to raise a generation that is digitally savvy and security-conscious.
Over five days, students took part in a well-rounded curriculum that blended theory with hands-on practice and interactive activities, using game-based learning to keep engagement high.
Launched in 2024, the Academy set out to raise cybersecurity awareness, build digital skills, and groom a new generation of qualified national talent equipped to tackle cybersecurity challenges. Its training system is tailored by age group and covers everything from digital safety basics to safe internet practices, data protection, and defense against cyberattacks.
NTI also announced a new phase of the program for children aged 8 to 11, extending the Academy's reach as part of its plan to spread cybersecurity awareness more broadly. This year alone, the Academy is targeting more than 6,000 trainees, surpassing the combined total from its previous two editions.
