By Its Students: Egypt University of Informatics Creates Two Smart Applications to Serve the Automotive and EV Sector
Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) has announced the success of students from the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design in innovating and developing two smart applications aimed at providing technological solutions for the automotive sector. The innovations place a special emphasis on supporting electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and streamlining the buying and selling experience in the market.
Prof. Dr. Ashraf Zaki, Dean of the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design, stated that these innovations come in response to current challenges, particularly the weak network of EV charging stations and users' lack of awareness of their locations. The programs were developed by students in the User Experience (UX) Design program, under the supervision and leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Taeb.
The First Application: "Waycharge" for Revolutionizing EV Charging
Student Parthenia Emad Abdallah (Fourth Year) created an integrated smart system that addresses the most prominent challenges facing EV owners and supports the government's policies aimed at expanding sustainable transportation.
Key Features and Characteristics of the "Waycharge" App:
Operational FeatureDetailed Description
Simplified Operational MechanismThe application relies on three main operating steps: Order, Connect, and Charge.
On-Demand Mobile ChargingThe ability to request a mobile electric charger to reach the user's location, rescuing vehicles and preventing sudden battery depletion.
Pre-BookingReducing waiting times and congestion by reserving a time slot and a dedicated spot at the charging station prior to arrival.
Value-Added ServicesProviding a pleasant waiting experience that includes free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating areas, and beverage services.
Rewards and Loyalty ProgramAccumulating points through usage, which can be redeemed for free charging sessions or other additional benefits.
The Second Application: Interactive Digital Platform for Car Trading
Student Jaylan Mahmoud (Fourth Year) developed a comprehensive digital platform that operates as an advanced interactive electronic shopping mall. It serves both automotive trading companies and customers, helping them make well-informed purchasing decisions.
Platform Components and Services:
Integrated Operating System: Consists of an interactive website, a smart mobile application, and an administrative dashboard.
Augmented Reality (AR) Technology: Allows users to interactively view car details, both inside and out, in a way that closely simulates reality.
Smart Comparison Tools: Provides the ability to conduct accurate technical and pricing comparisons between various car types and models.
Commercial Operations Management: Facilitates transactions by offering test drive bookings and enabling users to submit and track installment requests electronically through a seamless and secure user experience.
