China”s Crude Oil Imports Fall to Decade Low in June 2026
China's crude oil imports declined sharply in June 2026, reaching their lowest monthly level in a decade, according to data released by the country's customs authorities
Crude oil imports fell 41% year-on-year to 29.27 million metric tons, marking the weakest level since October 2016. Imports were also 12% lower than in May, which had already recorded the lowest monthly volume in eight years.
The figures highlight a significant slowdown in China's crude purchasing activity, reflecting weaker import demand compared with both the previous month and the same period last year.
