In a significant move highlighting growing trust in Egypt’s industrial capabilities, Auto Mobility—the official agent and exclusive manufacturer of Geely cars in Egypt—hosted Alex Nan, General Manager of GAIC (a subsidiary of Geely Global). The official visit was dedicated to high-level strategic discussions regarding the brand's future, expansion blueprints, and manufacturing trajectory in Egypt.
Strategic Meetings and Promising New Models
The visit featured a series of strategic meetings between Nan and Fahad Al-Ghanim, Chairman of Auto Mobility. The discussions focused on Geely's exceptional sales and production metrics in Egypt, as well as upcoming expansion plans, which include:
The upcoming launch of highly anticipated models such as the New Starray, New Cityray, and Monjaro, among others.
Expanding local assembly lines and increasing overall production capacity.
Exploring viable opportunities to export Egyptian-assembled Geely vehicles to regional markets.
Exponential Growth in 2026
This high-profile visit follows an outstanding commercial performance by Geely in the Egyptian market. Demonstrating rapid growth and surging consumer confidence, Auto Mobility managed to secure sales volume during the first half of 2026 alone that equaled the brand's total sales for the entire year of 2025.
The meetings also reviewed the notable success of the local manufacturing program for the Geely Coolray and Geely Emgrand models at the BAMIC factory. This joint manufacturing effort has emerged as a benchmark for localized production in Egypt's automotive sector, significantly bolstering vehicle availability and market competitiveness.
Leadership Perspectives
"Mr. Alex Nan’s visit reaffirms the vital position Egypt occupies in Geely Global’s long-term strategy, as well as the strength of our partnership," said Fahad Al-Ghanim, Chairman of Auto Mobility. "The growth we have unlocked so far in sales and the successful domestic assembly of the Coolray and Emgrand are only the beginning of a more ambitious era. Moving forward, we are working to scale local manufacturing, boost production capacity, and leverage Egypt's strategic location to evaluate export pipelines to neighboring markets."
The two entities extensively detailed a mutual strategy to transform Egypt into a primary regional hub for manufacturing and exporting Geely vehicles to the Middle East and Africa. This expansion plans to utilize Egypt's developing industrial infrastructure, skilled local talent pool, and active trade agreements. Both parties renewed their commitment to injecting further investments into the Egyptian market, prioritizing national industry development under global quality standards.
