The company outlined its strategy during the Cairo Consultants Forum, one of Egypt's leading gatherings for ICT consultants, engineers, and technology decision-makers, where discussions centered on artificial intelligence, data centers, sustainability, and next-generation digital infrastructure.
Speaking at the event, Anas Al-Zoubi, Engineering Consultant Manager for the Middle East at Axis Communications, said Egypt has become an increasingly important market as public and private organizations accelerate investments in smart cities and digital infrastructure.
Rather than acting solely as a technology vendor, Axis is positioning itself as a long-term engineering partner, providing consultancy firms with technical expertise, system design support, and international best practices for major infrastructure projects.
Al-Zoubi said the company is also launching a specialized education program aimed at young engineers and technology professionals to help bridge the gap between academic education and industry requirements. The initiative will focus on IP-based security systems, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, cybersecurity, and professional system design, preparing graduates for careers in the rapidly evolving digital security sector.
He noted that artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing the role of surveillance systems, transforming cameras from passive recording devices into intelligent sensors capable of generating real-time operational insights.
"Organizations are increasingly using video analytics not only to improve security, but also to understand customer behavior, monitor visitor flows, optimize operations, and support better business decisions," Al-Zoubi said.
He added that edge AI is becoming a key enabler of smart city applications, allowing surveillance devices to process data locally for traffic monitoring, crowd management, and public safety without relying entirely on centralized systems.
With cyber threats becoming more sophisticated, Axis is continuing to strengthen the cybersecurity capabilities of its solutions through continuous software updates and security enhancements designed to protect critical infrastructure throughout the lifecycle of deployed systems.
Al-Zoubi also pointed to the rapid expansion of data center investments across Egypt, saying the country's digital transformation is creating growing demand for advanced physical security solutions capable of protecting mission-critical infrastructure.
