National Bank of Egypt Pledges EGP 400 Million to Complete Ain Shams University Emergency Hospital

The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has signed a strategic cooperation protocol with Ain Shams University Hospitals to fund the completion of the new Emergency Hospital within Ain Shams Medical City. This initiative falls under the bank’s comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, which places a high priority on elevating the national healthcare sector.

The signing ceremony was attended by key figures from both institutions, including Mohamed El-Etreby, CEO of NBE; Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abidin, President of Ain Shams University; Dina Abou Taleb, Head of Marketing and Community Development at NBE; and Dr. Ali El-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of Ain Shams University Hospitals, alongside other senior medical and banking executives.

Major Financial Backing for Healthcare Infrastructure

Mohamed El-Etreby stated that this protocol stems from the bank's national duty to support state efforts in developing the healthcare system. He revealed that NBE is contributing a total of EGP 400 million to finalize the construction phases and complete the medical furnishing of the new emergency facility. El-Etreby emphasized that this contribution is an extension of NBE's strategic partnership with Ain Shams University, aimed at providing advanced therapeutic services to citizens.

Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abidin expressed his profound appreciation for NBE's continuous backing of the university's medical facilities. He noted that the new hospital represents a massive qualitative leap for Egypt's healthcare ecosystem, given its advanced medical equipment and modern capabilities designed specifically to handle critical and emergency cases.

Sustainable Community Impact

Dina Abou Taleb highlighted that NBE intentionally channels its community contributions toward projects that yield a sustainable developmental impact. She affirmed that supporting leading medical and educational institutions ensures the continuous delivery of high-quality healthcare to the public.

Hospital Capacity and Specifications

Dr. Tarek Youssef Ahmed, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, detailed the scale of the new Emergency Hospital, noting it is the largest ongoing project within the medical city.

Key specifications of the new facility include:

Structure: A 7-story dedicated medical building.

Surgical Capacity: 8 state-of-the-art capsule operating rooms.

Intensive Care: A fully equipped, expansive Intensive Care Unit (ICU) wing.

Medical Equipment: The facility will be outfitted with approximately 1,500 modern medical devices to ensure comprehensive, world-class treatment for high-volume emergency admissions.
