Google Reveals Top 10 User Requests for Gemini Following Call for Feedback
Google has disclosed the most frequent feature requests submitted by Gemini users, part of an ongoing effort to refine the AI assistant and enhance user experience. The disclosure follows a recent initiative launched by the head of the Gemini project, Josh Woodward, who urged users to share their feedback and suggestions regarding functionality they want to see added to the app.
Woodward explained that the company received thousands of responses from the community. From this substantial feedback pool, Google consolidated the top 10 most requested features while simultaneously sharing updates on the development progress made toward implementing them.
Core Performance and Personalization
Topping the user wishlist were structural demands for improved app speed and operational stability. Additionally, users heavily emphasized the development of Gemini’s memory, wishing to enable the assistant to recall past conversations and context with much higher accuracy. Enhancing search functionality within the conversation history to easily retrieve past interactions was also a prominent requirement.
Furthermore, users requested expanded customization options to tailor their experience, which includes adjusting response styles and tone of voice. This was coupled with calls for broader language support and deeper integration with core Google ecosystem services, including Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar, to carry out daily workflows more seamlessly.
Advanced Capabilities and File Handling
The top 10 list also highlighted the need for:
Upgraded image generation and built-in visual editing tools.
Advanced performance in coding and software development tasks.
Enhanced processing capabilities for long documents and large file uploads.
A reduction in overall hallucinations (errors) paired with faster response times.
Google confirmed that several of these highly requested features have already transitioned into active development, with some beginning a phased rollout to users. The tech giant noted that the remaining requests are prioritized on the upcoming Gemini product roadmap for the months ahead.
This community-driven approach arrives amid accelerating competition in the generative AI market. Google is actively banking on user-guided development to deliver a smarter, more adaptive assistant, reinforcing its competitive position in the global AI landscape.
