Remittances from Egyptians Abroad Surge 31.2% to $43.1 Billion in July-May FY 2025/2026
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that remittances from Egyptians working abroad sustained their upward trajectory during the fiscal year (FY) 2025/2026. Remittances surged by 31.2% during the period from July to May to reach approximately $43.1 billion, up from around $32.8 billion during the corresponding period of FY 2024/2025.
On a monthly basis, the central bank noted that remittances in May 2026 rose by 13.5%, reaching roughly $3.9 billion compared to about $3.4 billion recorded in May 2025.
This robust growth in expatriate remittances significantly bolsters Egypt's foreign currency resources and strengthens the external sector indicators of the national economy.
