Eng.Ingie faltas, Head of the Industry Committee at the 10th of Ramadan Investors Association, emphasized the importance of integration among the city's factories. She stressed the need to rely on the local production of feeder industries for production lines as a strategic alternative to avoid depending on foreign imports.

Launching a Campaign to Support Local Industry

These statements were made during a committee meeting held to explore ways to maximize the utilization of Egyptian feeder industries. faltas explained that the 10th of Ramadan City houses factories capable of producing various spare parts and production line requirements. Unfortunately, some factory owners resort to importing these items simply because they are unaware of their local availability. To counter this, the committee announced the adoption of an extensive campaign under the slogan "Buy from 10th Factories First."

During the meeting, the importance of utilizing the association's electronic platform to support the marketing initiative and achieve integration among factories was also highlighted. The platform serves a massive database comprising 15 industrial sectors and encompassing approximately 4,800 companies.

Challenges and Demands of the Industrial Sector

The meeting was attended by several association leaders, including Dr. Sobhi Nasr (Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors), Ayman Reda (Secretary-General), Eng. Adel Ismail (Treasurer), Eng. Adel El-Shennawy and Eng. Mahmoud Sultan (Board Members), and Dr. Hala Mohamed Salah El-Din (Director General of the Association), along with a number of the city's investors.

The gathering centered around discussing the most prominent problems facing the factories, in preparation for submitting them to Eng. Khaled Hashem, the Minister of Industry. The key demands included:

  • Land and Warehouse Allocation: Demanding changes to the laws governing industrial land allocation and offering conditions, along with the necessity of allocating warehouses through a public auction system.
  • Supporting the Green Economy: Facilitating the establishment of major factories specialized in recycling industrial waste to support the transition toward a green economy.
  • Production Competitiveness: Reconsidering the decision to reduce weekly working hours for factories to 42 hours, due to the resulting decline in competitiveness.
  • Infrastructure and Expansions: Expediting the provision of missing basic infrastructure in the 710-acre zone, resolving the land scarcity crisis in the "6-Million" zone, and utilizing equipped but idle hangars.
  • Administrative Procedures: Simplifying the conditions and procedures for renewing industrial licenses and registries within industrial complexes.
  • Alternative Solutions: Demanding the establishment of an industrial complex operating under a financial leasing system as a quick, temporary solution to the industrial land shortage crisis.
